I'm a beginner and I don't have a hamster yet because I'm so confused on what cage .
Which one of these cages would you recommend.

(I have been looking at DIY Ben cage or the Billy cage)

HI, looking at those cages I think only the Prevue is any good for hamsters, the others are more for guinea pigs I think due to the bar spacing, and even then I am not sure they meet the min required size for guinea pigs.

The prevue might be about ok for a dwarf but I would not be putting a Syrian in there personally. The Billy cage itself is not large enough - have you looked at the linnmon cages? Or there is a similar Ikea lack table hack. Ordinary melamine boards would work just as well, and I’d also keep an eye out for fish tanks - 75 gallons is a decent size or a detolf may work.

Agree that the Prevue is the only one suitable. I think it’s a good size for a Syrian Hamster - there aren’t any bigger ones in the US without diy-ing one. It’s a good price too. I personally think it’s a bit tall for a dwarf hamster. The prevue is equivalent to an 80cm by 50cm hamster heaven cage but has the benefit of being a bit taller (but not too tall) to allow for an 11” or 12” wheel and plenty of enrichment. You’d need a good depth of substrate to eliminate fall risks.

If it’s for a dwarf hamster there are better options.
