Default Spot Cleaning - Feel bad about resetting his burrows.

Hey, I'm about to do my first larger spot cleaning. Through the week I'll clean up surface level stuff but I need to get underneath the substrate to replace his (russian dwarf) food hoards with fresher stuff and air out the bedding a bit. I feel bad that I'll be resetting his little burrows - he loves to make them. I know there's not really any avoiding it, and thankfully the Kaytee stuff if really easy to burrow in but ... I just need some reassurance that I'm not a bad mom :'(

It is difficult. To be honest, if it’s dry I’d leave them. And wait till it’s time to do a substrate change and prune the hoard then (ie replace about half the substrate then). Am assuming that he has pee’d down there in which case it’s necessary. Could you give him 2 houses? Our Robo has a great system of moving between two burrows. So I could spot clean one (he’d then move tomorrow the other one. Another time I’d spot clean the other one and he’d move back to the first one
