Question Dwarf hamster cage : Alaska?

Hi. Yesterday I rescued a dwarf hamster, of who is housed in a tiny cage;
47 x 30cm!

I have previously owned only two dwarf hamsters who I rescued before I knew the 'correct' hamster cage sizes (80x50cm minimum). The others, including current ones have all been Syrian hamsters housed in Hamster Heaven cages.

My question is; Is the Alaska cage from Zooplus suitable for dwarf hamster species (Winter White hybrid)?

If so, is it well built, not flimsy, and escape proof? Have seen some mixed reviews on the cage, although I do know it is quite a popular choice.

Thanks!

I used it for my dwarf hybrid hamster Popcorn with no issues at all. It has a nice deep base for burrowing.

I didnt use any of the plastic accessories. Also a friend made a second level which was handy.

It is quite sturdy once put together properly, it comes flat packed so you just need to make sure you assemble the barred bit correctly
I have used the cage successfully for both Syrians and dwarfs in the past. I used the shelf for a while but changed it out for a couple of wooden shelves instead

This is my Stormy’s Alaska setup! Its a very good cage, especially for such a low price, however its pretty tall for a dwarf so platforms are good idea if your ham’s a climber.

I also recommend the Criceti 15, Duna Multy, Ruffy 2, and Hamster Heaven.

Dont worry about the wheel size, Stormy is much smaller than most russian hamsters (36g) and can run in a smaller wheel with a straight back. I’d prefer a larger wheel still but she refuses to use anything larger and she kept getting her flying saucer stuck from sand so i removed it.

I had the alaska at first for my Syrian, Luna. I upgraded to the savic plaza for the size, but for me I would say the alaska was a much stronger cage. Overall I think the alaska is a well built cage. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, but I did add more platforms.
