What you could do, if you don't like diy (which I don't!) Is, for now, just get a really good sized plastic storage bin and use kitchen rack grids as a lid - a bit like this. A smaller cage isn't so bad if your hamster has lots of out of cage time every day - BUT there is a smaller cage and there is a cruelly tiny cage. At night hamsters are at their most active and need the space to run around - they are incredibly active at night. Also even a tiny dwarf hamster needs a wheel that is at least 6" in diameter or they can get back pain.

See the first and third pictures on the top row of this link - it is a just a plastic bin with metal grids (ie kitchen rack shelves) on top The spacing on the grid isn't that crucial as, providing the bin is deep enough, your hamster won't be able to get to the top to escape. However, ideally the spacing should be 1cm or less - then you can have deeper substrate in the cage and the wheel would then be higher up - so they "might" be able to get out of the top then - so best to have 1cm or less spacing on the grids if possible.

It needs to be enough space and also a solid base with a good depth of substrate/litter. The best thing you can give the hamster is litter to dig tunnels in And a house that is dark inside to retreat to and feel safe - and a few cardboard tubes and tunnels as toys. Plus a wheel at least 6" in diameter. Making a playpen as well sounds great

Also the wheel needs to have a solid running surface to be safe Not a wire grid wheel. I tried to find pet stores in Brazil online to see if there were any good cages (still looking!) and noticed a lot of them are quite tall -like the second one you linked above. This isn't safe for a dwarf hamster - they can really injure themselves falling in tall cages (they climb the bars to the top) - so they need less height and more floor area. More substrate can help cushion falls but they can still land on something hard (eg the edge of a shelf on their way down or a hard toy on the base of the cage).

This doesn't look too bad It's a bit on the small side but might be ok with plenty of out of cage time. It is 55cm by 40cm. The wheel looks too small and would need replacing. Also the plastic insert shelf appears to have small holes in and a hamster could get their head stuck in those as they are very small holes - big enough to get a head through but not big enough to get a body through. So the cage without the platform (ie empty) would be safest and just add a house and a wheel and a some toys/tubes/hideouts.

It is about the same size as the Mini Duna cage in the Uk - and although most people will consider this too small for long term use, some dwarf hamster owners feel dwarf hamsters feel more secure in a smaller cage like this - depending on the hamster.

As it is so hard to find good cages in Brazil and if you don't feel up to making a bin cage - then this would be better than most, providing your hamster has plenty of out of cage time and seems happy in the cage. If they seem stressed and unhappy you would still need to look at trying to make a bin cage.

This is a good cage for a dwarf hamster - but it seems VERY expensive - probably due to being imported.

This wheel is ok and big enough
