Question Zoozone water bottle?

Well it's been a few years since I was here! I have recently taken on a rescue syrian as a foster, our pet shop owner asked me to have her as she had been put on Preloved by her owner who wanted her gone as she bit not only her a few times which she said she didn't mind so much but then bit her 6yr old, her first home she was bought as a present for a 2yr old! She's only a youngster but I am already her 3rd 'owner' and if she was in a pet shop after a breeder that makes 5 homes! She was in a very small cage so I told them to keep it and have put her in one of my Alexander cages. The new owner has the choice of keeping her in that or borrowing my Zoozone, I've given her pros and cons of both and think she'll go for the Zoozone as it's easier but I need suggestions for the water bottle. I last had dwarf hammies in there and we used one of those thick cardboard chews with a hole in which worked perfectly, I tried that in the Alexander and Lily Mai not only pushed it over within 2 mins so I wedged it in but has chewed the top of the bottle, it also leaked lots but that could be a bottle fault and not due to her. I can just see her chewing through the cardboard and the bottle! She is due to go to her new home in a couple of weeks and I want to get her settled in the Zoozone as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Not quite sure what you mean but I’d just block that bottle hole entirely as they can get quite fixated on it otherwise. Just those chew things that screw into bars should do it if they’ve got a big washer or something. Then use a water bowl on a shelf which are better for them really. When I used the zoozone & a water bottle it seemed to be difficult getting the hole to work so I think I just used a free standing bottle holder instead.

I don't mind using the hole in the Zoozone but last time had problems attaching a bottle to it successfully, I just need a way of being able to use a water bottle that isn't via the hole and didn't know you could get free standing ones, hence why before we fashioned one out of a cardboard tube but that isn't working with this little one. I don't want to use a water bowl so I shall go have another search for a suitable holder. Thank you.

There aren't many free standing water bottle holders around, there are a few plastic ones which are basically rubbish, the living world one which only works with the glass bottle or the Rodipet one, I've used the Rodipet one with several hams before I switched to bowls & found it to be pretty good.

The living world one is very sturdy, needs to be buried in bedding so it won’t move. Then a normal bottle will fit if you attach a band or something to hold it. Didn’t personally like the glass living world bottle as the drinking angle wasn’t great with the stand as it sits really low. The rodipet one would work but not sure if you’d want to weigh it down to stop it moving.

I use this water bottle for my bin cages, it has a loop at the top to hook the wire through and attach it to the lid of the cage. http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...-animals-300ml

You can also use a water dish but you’ll want to put it on a platform so that it doesnt get knocked over.
