Re: Paper based bedding in Europe/Germany
I second hemp, in my experience it’s been much more dust free than other wood beddings. It’s just not fantastic for burrowing in on its own really, so probably layer it with something else even if it’s just hay.

Re: Paper based bedding in Europe/Germany
The fitch was available when I posted the link, they must’ve removed it the same day maybe they want to avoid international orders around christmas?
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Kaytee clean & cosy and hemp though!
I’ve never used Finacard but it looks like the homemade substrate I have to use for my elderly hamster with severe allergies (even to Fitch!), it’s good for adding another texture but not great for burrowing on it’s own
There are tutorials online for homemade paper substrate. Basically soak paper until it becomes pulp, then drain it, and dry it out. You can control the colour and softness depending on what paper you use.

I ordered Fitch from Amazon about 2 weeks ago no problem so hopefully it'll be back soon!
