Default Ferplast Criceti 15!

I set up my new Criceti 15 yesterday! I love the huuuge top door, base depth, and overall it’s a good size/shape for a dwarf hammie! The door made it really easy to set up the inside.

I was only going to put Stormy in for 15 minutes to get her used to the larger size slowly but she showed very few signs of stress or anxiety so I just moved her to the cage properly. I’m really happy she’s become more confident! She currently has no sand bath though, because I accidentally spilt her sand during the move so I need to dry out more play sand for her tomorrow.

My only minor issues with the cage itself is how awkward it was to assemble (which I imagine is also true for the Grosvenor and Savic Plaza?), how weak the ladder’s hooks are, and that the platform screws and yellow not orange (they don’t match the other clippy parts). I will be replacing the platform once my DIY platforms are finished so it’s not really an issue for me though.

The wheel is of course too small for most hamsters (5 inches), the house is an okay size to make a dwarf hamster sandbath or hide but I don’t like using plastic in my cages, the food bowl is one of their long oval bowls and I like that the food bowls are big enough for a dwarf hamster to sit in I’ll probably use it for putting fresh veggies in. I don’t like their water bottles for dwarf hamsters but it’s always good to have a spare and I’m glad to have another bottle clip!

I was mildly horrified by one thing though, because the cage came with free fluffy bedding! I didn’t even know Ferplast made fluffy bedding! This is my first time actually seeing it out of the packet and I don’t understand how anyone could ever think it’s safe! It got caught on my fingernails just from feeling it!

Glad you like it for Stormy It's a nice cage. Yes I had heard the Grosvenor was difficult to assemble so interesting the Ferplast is the same. Horrified also that it came with fluffy bedding! Where did you buy it from? Write to them and tell them not to!

I bought it from P@H but the fluffy bedding was inside the packaging for the house and food bowl so I’m guessing it’s sold with fluffy bedding everywhere and not just p@h. Either way, I will email both p@h and Ferplast!
