Hamster...Tank?
So despite having some huge cages, they just don't seem very accessible. I know for sure that Peewee would appreciate a larger enclosure - It's already more than big enough for a Syrian, but he is spoiled... - which leads me to the internet where I see these amazing cage ideas! Mostly, converted cabinets and glass tanks. I know I cannot buy anything like this from a shop, and so I am utterly stuck on how I could ever get my hands on a cage like that.
I want something like a Vivarium, with the front opening door, though it would be much better if it were made fully of glass or acrylic, that is easy to gain access to. The cage just has so many layers and bits and bends, none of which I can really move or adapt.
Is there anywhere I can order one of these, to be built from scratch? I would really need to have someone else build something, considering my DIY skills don't exist. I would really appreciate if anyone could guide me to somewhere I could get a custom hammy cage Or, if you have one like this, let me know how you acquired it!

Yes you can get a glass tank made to order with front opening doors, whatever size you want, however deep a base you want, and with a mesh locking lid. Custom aquaria - I was quoted once and it was going to be about £150. Seems their website name has expired and they urge you to use the phone instead!

But that's just for glass. A member from here also makes these - and I am sure they would make a custom size if you asked. No front opening door but a perspex front and a nice big hinged lid. That's the other extreme - all wood.

I actually prefer cages for the access and this one is 120cm and has a lovely big front opening door! (And by looking for it I have found that Amazon uk are selling the Borneo XL - previously only German Amazon sold it and stopped shipping it to the Uk - great it's available in the Uk again).

You can make vivarium style cages for half the price by converting Ikea shelving units!

That's my problem, I have no skill in that kind of area. I wouldn't know how to even with a tutorial it wouldn't be up to the standard my hamsters deserve.

Thank you so much for this, I'll drop them an email, and if there's no reply, a phone call! I've been looking for a sight like this for a while now, never could find it though. So thank you!
