Question Cage tubes

Hello! So...i am unsure about something quite important: cage tubes.
I have 2 hamsters. both of them live in bin cages, but they have 2 floors(the min one, the one from the bin itself and then i put another one a bit higher). They areconected from the inside of the tube with ladders that i brought from a petshop, but on the outside they ar conected with tubes that go from the main level to the top one. I made surethat the ventilation wholes are sideways for them, so when they walk whey won't get their feet stuck. the cages have enough ventilation, because i made not only wholes on top of the cage, but also on the "walls", like "windows". I made sure that the tubes are big enough for them. Most of the times, one of them just goes from the bottom level to the top one and somestimes stores food that she later takes to her nesting place insude the cage, but the other one sometimmes sleep in it, but only for 10-15 minutes, since his nesting place is inside a hideout from his cage. They never peed o it nor put bedding inside of it and on top of that i clean them every other day. So with that said, do you think they are safe anyways or should i get rid of them?

PS: sorry if this is the wrong forum topic

I think a photo of your setup would help as I can't really picture it. It seems to sound alright though if they're not sleeping in tubes or anything. Probably don't clean the tubes every other day especially if there's no pee in them, over cleaning cages doesn't do either of you any good. Just watch the hamsters can get through the tubes easily as unfortunately larger syrians can and do get stuck in normal sized tubes.

The joins also have to be very secure which sounds difficult to achieve with a bin cage, and cleaning the tube every other day might loosen it further. It does need to be 100% escape proof as hamsters have been known to escape out of external tubes!

I'm moving, so my hamsters are in another house rn w a cousin, but when I will have them back, I will post a picture with them. The joibts are connected well, as far as I'm concerned. The hamsters are dwarfs and I can almost fit my fist inside the tubes. I loocked at them being inside the tubes when I took them out and they weren't even half the size of the interior, so I don't think that's a problem, but thnak you for addresing that. Also, I'll stop cleaning them every other day. Thank you very much.
