Ive been using fitch bedding but i find that there is a quite few sharp bits, and i have to check almost every handful

so ive bought a bag of megazorb to give that a try, is it still good to use?

Not used Fitch in a long time but I’ve heard the quality has been questionable more recently. Megazorb is fine anyway. Just check it’s not too dusty or anything but I’ve never had problems with it. There are sometimes random large pieces in there too but not often, and they’re easy to remove.

I found about a year ago that the quality of Fitch had declined and the last bag I bought went into the bin because it was just so rough. About the same time, I discovered Megazorb at a local equine shop and have used that in most of my cages ever since. I have found it to be quite a soft substrate that holds up to tunnelling well and is quite cost effective as I find that we can go longer between clean outs than Fitch.

Some people have said that there can be a smell to it but that often depends on how it has been stored at the retailer. I often get mine from Millbry Hill and they’ve been pretty good.

thanks all! its so different to fitch, i find it kind of 'scratchy' like the little bobbly bits ( so bad at explaining) but i feel like i dont have to check every handful unlike with fitch. Can only seem to find the 85L bag though, is that the only size it comes in?
