Default Scent in previous cage.

Hi, I am Jessica from Indonesia.
I have 2 syrian. I regularly clean their cage once per week, and I always do it on Sunday, when I am not working.

I read some article saying, I must leave some scent trace so my hams can recognise their smell.
Could anybody know what must I do to leave their scent trace.
Note. I usually brush all their cage with soap bar and renew all their bedding.

Yesterday, while i am cleaning, I try just clean the cage, drinking bottle, food dish ( i clean it everyday though ).
All their toy like house hiding, small ball, tunnel I didnt clean it.
Is it enough to leave some trace??

I can consult with many hamster expert in my country

You don't need to clean that often or do a full cage clean all at once.
Daily spot clean any pee that you find, if you can get a litter tray & put either normal substrate or some chinchilla sand (not dust) in & place it where they normally pee then they will often use that which makes cleaning easier.
For the rest of the cage you only clean what needs cleaning when it needs cleaning, you don't need a strict regime really.
You could do a partial clean, maybe a third or a half of the cage at any one time, if your hams don't dig a lot then you only need to clean away some of the top layer of substrate not right to the bottom, if they do dig a lot then you may need to clean deeper.
Whatever area you clean always put a little of the old substrate which will have their scent on it back on top, if you clean the nest area always put at least some of the old nest material back & the same goes for the food hoard.
How often & how much you clean will depend to some extent on the size of your cage & depth of substrate.
If your cage is a good size (around 80-100x50cm) & the substrate is at least 15-20cm deep you need do very little cleaning really, if your cage is smaller you will probably need to do it a bit more often.
Toys rarely need cleaning & houses only if they get peed on.

The problem is, I don't know where they pee this whole time. hahaha..
For the sand. I have bathing sand with strawberry flavour and zeolite sand no 1 ( hope you know what is zeolite sand ). Which is better?

Thanks for the useful information.
I really find here is really useful.
Thanks to ErinsAnimals for introducing this site and thank to you for always answer my question.
