Vacation Help?
Hello everyone.
It's me again, I haven't been here for quite a while.
I need some help regarding plans to vacation and for the hamsters?
I cannot hire someone nor take my Hamsters to a friend since they don't live near me, I wanted to know if there are possible solutions for this?
I don't want to give my Hamsters away, just because I can't take care of them during my vacation, but I don't want them to starve or get dehydrated alone either.

Re: Vacation Help?
Part of the responsibility of having a pet is the commitment to care for them at all times. You must find a carer for them during your vacation. You simply cannot leave them. Can you put an ad out for someone to do an exchange care maybe - they look after yours and in return you look after theirs when they are away?
I would possibly leave them 2 nights alone with two bottles, loads of food a piece of veg but any longer you need a pet sitter.

Re: Vacation Help?
ask at your local pet shop. They may know someone who can help. Or you might be able to post an advertisement for a hamster sitter.

Re: Vacation Help?
Have you got a neighbour that can pop in just to check that they have enough food and fresh water? I had to do that once when it wasn’t worth me taking them over to my usual pet sitter. Yes, she wasn’t experienced in hamster care but it was better than nothing at all and I left her with instructions on how often to feed them and what they ate as well as making sure she had my number to call if she was worried about anything.

have you asked at your vets to see if they have a nurse there that will help?
