Fancy Hamster and Dwarf hamster together?

I've done lots of research about housing different breed hamsters but I haven't come across housing fancy hamsters and dwarf hamsters together. I know larger breed hamsters can be quite agressive such as syrians and just wanted to make sure if it safe or not. They have been getting along so far since yesterday when I picked them up. So, the question is can a dwarf hamster and a fancy hamster be housed together?

Hi! Welcome to HC! Congratulations on getting your new hamsters but if they are two separate species then you really need to separate them straight away. They wouldn’t meet naturally in the wild and it’s very likely that one could seriously injure the other - most likely the Syrian attacking the dwarf as he’s much bigger. I’m sure you’ll have a lot of fun with your new little guys - but in separate cages!

As Velma said different hamster species must always be kept separately, trying to keep them together will only result in fighting, injuries or worse & a lot of stress for your hams.
Do you know which species you have? (A photo would help if you're not sure) You'll find lots of useful info on caring for different species of ham here on the forum but if you have any questions just ask.
