Syrian bedding
Morning all - I am in the uk, what bedding is best for syrians? just getting everything ready to get a hamster wso wanted to make sure I get the right stuff, also where does everyone buy from? We have gerbils as well & I get their bedding from Finacard - they offer the following for hamsters - does it sound ok?
This Finacard hamster bedding and Papelit paper hamster litter pellet bundle is ideal for litter and substrate . This pack contains a Finacard Maxibale plus 30 Litres Papelit Paper Hamster Litter Pellets. Hamsters sleep for long periods of time and appreciate a warm, safe bedding material. This Finacard hamster bedding is perfect for providing them with a hygienic and healthy environment.... (it's £29.50 for 30 ltrs)

Re: Syrian bedding
Fitch is about the best there is & works out really cheap in the long run, a 10kg bag will last quite a while but a 20KG bag works out cheaper & you will need more for your initial set up so that may be a better option.
For nesting just plain white toilet paper shredded up a bit is the best you can give them!

Thank you for that - do you also use wood chippings too or just Fitch?

Re: Syrian bedding
You can mix it if you want to but it's not necessary, wood shavings are safe but some hams can be allergic to them so it's easier to just stick to fitch tbh.

Re: Syrian bedding
Like cypher said, Fitch would be your best bet. I’ve never used it but heard it good!
