Omlet qute hamster house
Hi There! Just wondering about the general opinion of the Omlet qute hamster house... I know Omlet do some really good cages for other animals (chickens, bees etc) but their hamster cage (at least the way I view it) doesn't meet the recommended size?
Haven't seen anything about this cage on this website so wondering peoples opinions or whether Omlet have been contacted or addressed any concerns - I personally think the look and layout of the cage is excellent - just wish it was double the size!

Re: Omlet qute hamster house
I looked at these a few years ago as I liked the idea of it but I decided against it as I think for me I felt there were a few issues that make it not suitable. Aside from the fact you’d be restricted about toys and housing you could fit in, the ventilation seems quite poor to the bottom layer. The original design had a mesh floor for the upper layer which isn’t suitable for hams as it can cause bumble foot and later designs have a plastic cover with just a small section round the edge left uncovered. I feel this could lead to poor ventilation in the bottom layer of you have a ham who pees down there. I’m also a bit concerned by the vertical tube as a lot of hams are going to struggle with that, especially as they age. I think as they are quite expensive there are better ways to spend your money on your hams
