Angry hamster
Frank is upset with me. I took his cage into the garden yesterday to spot clean it. I usually leave his beautifully crafted nest and clean his wee corner and refresh his food stash. However, yesterday the wind blew the cage base halfway up the garden, scattering the wood shavings and bedding all over the place. I managed to retrieve some bedding to retain the scent but poor Frank keeps moving food around his cage - clearly a bit unsettled. He still likes a cuddle though and I知 sure he値l forgive me soon. 😬

Re: Angry hamster
Aw - he'll probably settle soon although it might take a couple of weeks to get back into a routine after re-scent marking everything. Sometimes a bit of distraction helps like scattering some of his food. Still put it in the food bowl but scatter some as well and he'll get distracted foraging for it.

Re: Angry hamster
I find talking to them and explaining what happened in an apologetic voice and saying very sorry helps as well! You get ignored at first while they listen to you talk - but then you get forgiven in a day or so

Re: Angry hamster
I'm sure things will get resolved soon!! Sound ridiculous- but you can try repeating the steps as if you were taming a new hamster for your hamster to calm down a bit (giving treats, getting them okay with you stroking and petting them, etc.) When my old hamster got mad at me (which was... A lot of the time..) I usually did these and she ended up being alright with me at the end result!! She was a moreover mean hamster, aha.

Re: Angry hamster
I'm sure you will be forgiven and all will be fine again very soon. Hams have a tendency to be extremely forgiving fluffies and, with a little bit of patience and plenty of treats and cuddles, all will return back to normal once again. Best of luck to you.

Re: Angry hamster
Frank will soon have his scent all over his cage, accidents happen, try not to be so hard on yourself.

Re: Angry hamster
I agree with the others. It's just an accident, just wait a moment and he will be very happy.
