Ah right sounds fine then. And if edge chewing does become an issue, attaching thin plastic or metal corner trims is a possible solution.

Re: New cage advice
She's been moved from a probably not good home to a rescue as a baby and then not long after moved to you - it's not surprising she is stressed.
I would get the Skyline Marrakesch. It's expensive on Zooplus right now but the white version is cheaper on Amazon. There is nothing she could chew - the front back and base are glass and the wood sides are very smooth. Its not quite as big as the Alexander but it's a good size.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Skyline-204...line+marrakesh
But as it's only been a couple of weeks I would also try getting her settled a bit. Has she had a cage clean since you got her? That might have set things back a bit.
She probably isn't tame yet - try and give her an hour or so each evening out of the cage in the dry bathtub with the plug in. Put a couple of toys in there - a tube and a mug on its side maybe, and let her run around in there. She'll probably slither up and down the sides of the bath mainly.
You can try gradually stroking her on her back with one finger occasionally while she's in there. If she jerks to nip at you then wait a bit and try later - or try with an old toothbrush at arms length. She should get used to a stroke on the back without jerking. Then you can move on to cupping a hand under her while she's in there - just lift your hand 1cm or so but don't try and hold her - let her walk off. When she gets used to that try cupping picking her up for a minute or two in the same way - hold her low though - for a stroke. When she trusts you and is hand tame she will be a bit calmer.
Added a little video of when we tamed our feral syrian! It took a while but he was tame as anything afterwards.

Re: New cage advice
Whimzees is made of potato starch and most hams have a particular affinity for it. I would recommend you try it. It's also extremely inexpensive. Its very unlikely that she will resist sinking her teeth into one and can take her quite a long time to go through them. My hamster Gaby chews only on the Whimzees. She doesn't touch any other chew.

Re: New cage advice
The Eco Habitat is a better size. Some people have put sheets of coroplast/correx on the base (plasticized corrugated cardboard). You would need to be prepared to mesh or screw metal strips over the inside wood corners if she started chewing them and possibly even mesh over the side vent holes if she started chewing at those.
This is the custom glass tank from Jungle Pets - it's a good length (120cm) but not very deep (38cm). Comes with a lid and built in glass shelves. It's not a bad price compared to the eco Habitat and Marrakesch. They will also make you one the size you want so you could ask for 115cm by 50cm deep. I had a quote for something like that and it was going to be about £115 I think. 38cm deep isn't too bad though as the sides are straight - similar depth to the marrakesch or a detolf. Even though 120cm is longer than your cupboard, you could have some overhang at the edges.

Hi, we havn't done a cage clean since getting her and theres been no sign of faeces or urine anywhere. She was completely tame before we got her and is tame with us she constantly wants to be held as well and is perfect at being handled by anyone and never bites or nips sometimes licks when in a good mood but definetly not Ferrel.

Thanks for your suggestions ill look into it and the cupboard is by a doorway so i cant have overhang due to blocking the doorway and because of the slope of the stairs

Re: New cage advice
You can get whimzees from Pets at Home & other pet shops where you can often buy them singly rather than having to get a big bag.
Online you can also get antos chews (pretty much the same thing) from Ratrations too.
