New DYI Hammy Cage

Me and my bf spent the bank holiday working on this, we wanted to give our dwarfs some more space and give them lots of room to dig. So we created this from an IKEA Billy bookcase but with a custom floor and lid from scratch. There is definitely a lot more we'd like to do, but right now the hams seem much happier, this is almost double the floorspace of their last cage. We'd be interested in some feedback, next on the list is to create a shelf to hold their food and to give them some climbing fun and to tidy up some of the sides. We've learnt a lot being DIY novices but it was easier than expected, we're much more confident.

You might want to add more substrate as dwarf hams love to dig, burrow and build tunnels

Your hams' DIY cage looks great and very spacious; it looks like they are already having lots of fun exploring it and playing with their toys. As BP mentioned, I think more substrate will be greatly appreciated by your furry twosome.

The cage looks good. Lots to do and burrowing fun also. I think a shelf will add even more fun.
