Default reusing hamster toys?

My hamster Hammy recently died and I would like to reuse her toys with another hamster. Will this be ok? She died from a probable tumour or cushings disease. Some of her toys are wooden or wicker so can't be washed. Will it be safe to give them to another hamster?

Cushings cannot be passed from one hammy to another. I treated my boy with Cushings for a year and he died at 2 and 1/2 last year. Although I bought some new stuff for my next boy, I cleaned the wheel thoroughly and some wooden bits I put in the freezer for a week. When my next boy died very young indeed, maybe from a tumour, I had hardly used the new stuff and so I froze a cork tunnel and other things again. His new wooden house I plastikoted a second time ( so 4 coats now) and the wheel and cage were cleaned and cleaned again. All are in use again now and I hope will not cause any problems.

I reuse most toys, anything that hasn't been peed on unless it's completely washable, plastic or ceramic items get a good wash & I usually disinfect them too just to be safe using a ham safe unscented disinfectant, wooden things or other natural materials go in the freezer for about a week.

Tumor can't passed to the next hamsters, very few mammals has that.

Just wash everything properly If possible.
Wood can be handwashed with biodegreable, or at least perfumefree dish detergent, particular wood that is threated, but untrated too. Untreated wood can treated with cooking oil afterwards and let dry for 24 hours and remove any excess oil. Otherwise disinfectant can be used, but it don't remove that the bacteria grows on.
I wouldn't recommend wash bark, more that is diffucult to clean properly.

If she'd had something infectious then i'd bin the wooden toys but since she hasn't i'd reuse them.
My Syrian died of a tumour however he had suffered from ringworm twice in his final year so I thought it best to throw my wooden bits away just to be on the safe side.
