Default Just made my first DIY Hamster Cage

I got the largest Samla Bin at Ikea, it is about 660 sq inches. If you could see it irl its quite big. This was recommended by many hamster owners like the Youtuber HammyLux and Victoria Raechel. I showed this to others on Reddit at r/Hamsters they liked it too.

Oh God the picture is upside down. Is that just for me?

The picture isn't upside down for me! It looks really nice, I would suggest putting a panel on one of the sides too for better ventilation, you don't really get much air flow with just a panel on the top.
Which species of hamster do you have? I just saw from your other post that the bin is 22x30" which is a bit on the small side.

It seems good, I suggest adding a duct tape with a design for the zip ties so it would look nice if you want to.

I'm getting a Syrian Hamster. The minimum cage is 460 Sq inchest but I wanted it to be bigger. Seems kinda small in the picture though. But it has room for everything and more. Even made a platform with popsicle sticks for him.

I'm getting a Syrian Hamster. In the US the minimum cage is 450 or 460 Sq inches. I got 660 because I wanted it to be bigger. Trust me it's big. It can fit all the stuff and more and I think it's about 17 inches tall. I could even fit a big platform made of popsicle sticks in the bin for my hamster.

Did you get the this Samla bin - https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S69903214/ - as the measurements 22x30 are the top measurements - therefore the overall floorspace isn’t 660sq in but from measurement my girl’s playbin from the height of substrate the bin would be 18 x27 as the bin tapers which means the floorspace is in fact only 486sq in.

I wouldn’t say this box is big but it’s a fairly decent size to start off with - as some hamster do prefer slightly smaller cage and upgrades can be made according it individual needs.
