Question hamster cant use wheel

my new robo keeps trying to run on his wheel but he cant turn it, its the 6.5 inch silent spinner, i also put a flying saucer wheel in his cage to see if he could use that but i havent seen hm use it yet. what can i do ? i tried turning it with my hand and it spins easily.

edit: just seen him use the flying saucer and hes using it just fine (hasnt quite got the hang of it yet he keeps sitting on it so he spins in a circle XD )

Default Re: hamster cant use wheel

There has been a problem with Silent Spinners - in that they are too stiff to spin or don't spin properly - they used to run freely. It's since a manufacturing change a while back I believe. I would take it back for a refund and just keep the flying saucer Our robo has just discovered a flying saucer as well. If you wanted a wheel as well, this one would be a good option - spins easily and it's silent. It would need painting with plastikote though or it'll get pee soaked.

Even though it's a bigger 9" wheel they spin really well. Our robo has a 9" wood wheel and goes like the clappers in it.
