Smile Thoughts on the Wodent Wheel?

Hello!
I'm in the market for a new wheel for my syrian hamster, Pebbles. lol shes starting to get quite big!
She current has a 6.5 inch silent spinner. It's okay, when i first got it and she was smaller she could run as much as she liked with a comfortable flat back.

anyway, i tend to see wodent wheels in cage pics i see online, or wheels with a similar design.

thoughts on the wodent wheel?
haha pretty much looking for product reviews

Hello and I am so sorry for the late reply
I personally really like wodent wheels. For the majority of them, they are silent but you get the odd squeaker. In addition, the front panel protects your hamster from potentially falling out of it if they run too fast (this is unlikely though). Overall, I believe that they are great wheels that are worth splashing your cash on. Just remember that an adult/fully grown Syrian requires at least a 10 inch wheel so that their backs don't arch which could cause severe spinal problems

I got the wodent wheel for my Syrian girl and I've really liked it. My only issue was that when I placed it on the bedding it had a tendency to tip especially when my hamster was digging around. It doesnt have much height under the wheel so you couldnt really put it on the bottom of the cage because the bedding would just fall into it and not allow it to spin. I have a tank cage so I had to fashion a stand for it out of a cardboard box and it's worked great ever since. If you have a barred cage I think you can attach them to the side.

I have found Wodent Wheels to be great wheels! The only downside is the price, you can get alternatives for cheaper such as the trixie rodent wheel

Wodent wheels are good and tend to last a long time. But if she is quite a large hamster you might be better with another wheel. The wodent wheel is the most compact of the 11" wheels (fairly narrow) and 27cm diameter. Whereas the Trixie 28cm wheel is very slightly bigger and seems to fine for any Syrian hamster. It's also quite cheap and usually quiet. Which country are you in. The Silent Runner (not spinner) has become very popular for Syrians - it's a 12" wheel but not so bulky as the 12" wodent equivalent (wobust wheel). It is silent (has ball bearings) and also has a safe sturdy metal stand. It can also be mounted to bars instead of on the stand with cage mounting plates.

It's not cheap but mine is still going strong after 18 months or more so maybe a good investment. It's made by exotic nutrition in the US who also sell it but it's available in the Uk too. I believe the 28cm trixie wheel is available in both the US and the Uk and it's a good basic wheel for a Syrian.

I would go for one of those to be on the safe side in case she ends up being a very large hamster. The Silent runner is the same principle as wodent wheels with a front and back piece and a runner track that fits between them, but better in my opinion as it doesn't have a spindle or a fiddly pin on the front. It also spins very well - so very easy for them to run in.
