Default Cage issues

Will a 25 by 14 inch bin work for a friend’s hamster? The hamster in question is currently living in an extremely small 8x9 1/2 inch cage. We know this is absolutely unacceptable, but will the ham be able to stay there for a week more while we build her new bin cage? How can we help her tolerate the tiny cage until her new, suitable home is in the works? We are trying to minimize the amount of time she has to stay there as the tiny cage is, well, tiny. The cage is so pitifully small. I have another spare cage that’s 10x12 inches (Also far too small!!) and I’m wondering whether she can stay there. It’s definitely an improvement, but the question here is whether the ham can stay in a less-than-ideal cage for the meantime.
