Best aspen bedding?

My lovely female Syrian has always been on paper bedding. I just like the look of it and I like that it's so soft. However, paper bedding is getting really expensive since I give her plenty of substrate to burrow in. I only clean her cage completely one to two times a month. I was wondering if anyone in the US had a favorite brand of aspen they use and why they prefer it. I want to try aspen since it's less expensive, but there are so many different kinds that I don't know where to start.

I usually use Kaytee because it's a trusted brand, it's safe for hamsters and it doesn't contain a lot of dust, which can cause lung problems. It also absorbs well, and is less expensive.

Have you tried having a potty/ jar or container where she pees. Then just changing the peed on substrate. It can save you having to clean the rest out as often.

I tried for three months to litter train her and she simply refuses. I gave up after a while.
