Default merging living conditions?

i recently only had one male robo but because of certain circumstances i now have a female as well. right now im keeping her in my taming tank but its not big enough for her. i recently got a big cage but i need to set it up and it would take the rest of my bedding and supplies until i get paid and i dont want her unhappy for that long so i was wondering if it was a bad idea to merge them in the big cage.

Do you mean put the male & female together?
If so then the answer is definitely not.
If you've got enough to at least partially fill the big cage then I would use what you have, you can always make extra hideouts & toys with cardboard boxes & tubes, although you would need enough substrate for a reasonably good depth & put her in there on her own.

Could you not use up the rest of your bedding and supplies for the new big cage until you get paid and just not do any cleanouts?Big cleanouts aren't really recommended anyway and spot cleaning is better with substrate clean outs maybe every 2 to 3 months. Alternatively tear up a load of plain white toilet paper for the new cage and add her old bedding from the taming bin.

Agree with Cypher by the way - don't put them in together! It will cause both of them a lot of stress, you could end up with a pregnant or dead hamster one morning. Have you seen Boxo bedding? It's supposed to be quite cheap and sold in bulk at Walmart I think - paper/cardboard. Quite popular in the US

I agree with both cypher and serendipity that do not put both of your hamster together - it can either lead to your hamster breeding (which isn't recommend unless you done the proper research and knowledge) or a serious fight.

With hamsters you don't often need to do complete full cage cleans so removed the dirty bedding and replace this with clean bedding. This would be the best thing to do.
