Pet-safe paint in UK

Hi Guys,
I’m in the process of making a new wooden enclosure if my syrian hammy but not sure what finish to do. Not sure what paint to use.
Does anyone know of any pet-safe paints in the UK or how to tell if one is pet-safe?

You an use Plastikote water based enamel (must be the water based on though, it does say on the jar) some people also use cuprinol garden shades, I haven't used that one for hamsters only for garden stuff & it does have a strong smell so would need airing for quite a while before use, Plastikote can be used as soon as dry which is only about 10-20 minutes for each coat.
