Splitting my detolf
Hi all!
I was wondering if there as a way I could split my Detolf cage into two seperate cages, as It's area halved is still within the UK quidelines. I have been wanting to adopt an elderly robo from my local rescue as nobody else wants her.
I already have a syrian and was also concerned that If i took away half of her area that she would get upset?
It'd need to be very secure so they cant chew through/smell each other and would stay in place.
Any suggestions?

Re: Splitting my detolf
It is possible but very tricky to do and make it secure. I wouldn't split it to accommodate two different species either as if either got though one could kill the other. It would also stress them to smell the other so near bye. Maybe you could get another cage for the robo. An elderly hamster won't need a huge cage as long as you provide a good wheel and other enrichment.

Re: Splitting my detolf
I agree it would be a risky thing to do also half the cage wouldn't really be enough space for your syrian & it would be unfair to take away half the space your syrian already has.
It would be lovely if you could take on the elderly robo but I would just get a separate cage.
