Band practice/soundproof cage

Hey guys! Just got a new hamster after not having one for some time, I now live with my husband and he has band practice every monday, the problem I am having is that they are having band practice now and its a little bit loud and so it wakes him up. His cage is upstairs in our room but the drumming still sounds super loud.
I dont want to stress him out with too much noise, I tried putting some towels over the cage to hopefully make it less loud. Does anyone know what I could do to help the situation? Will my hamster become too stressed out? He seems to have gone back to sleep but I just want to make sure he is okay. Thank you!

It depends how loud! They do adjust to regular noises around the place so it may not scare him if it becomes regular, but they do have sensitive hearing. Sound seems to carry more between floorboards than it does between walls sometimes. Can't you chuck the band out into the garage or something?!

Extra tissue so he can use it to build a bigger nest can help block the noise a bit. He will likely get used to the noise with time.

Its a serious band, I cant just chuck them out haha but the good thing is that they practice around 8 and he usually wakes up that time. I think he will be fine I was just worried that it would scare him since hes not yet adjusted to his new environment. Thank you guys!
