Question Help! Is this DIY toy safe?

Hi! I'm getting a hamster soon and I got creative and made a prototype for a DIY hamster hammock! I researched it, and strings in toys are a very controversial topic when it comes to hamsters. Im pretty sure this string is twine, but im not sure. Is it safe? (Im planning on covering the metal grid with a lot of bedding)

It does not look safe to me with the strings and also the mesh grid base which a hamster could get stuck in!
It's not at all suitable.
A hamster would however like the egg box to chew and climb in. With egg boxes it is best to microwave them for 30 sec as the can have germs on them from the eggs.

Thanks! It was just a prototype and I've scrapped it.

It's a great idea! Agree with souffle about the grid though. I copied an idea of Vectis's and made one out of an egg box with sisal rope/string. Sisal is safe to chew - you can get it on ebay (untreated sisal string or rope). The main thing is that it is hung safely. If it's too high up they can fall out.

Is it for a tank? If it's for a cage you can just tie the sisal to the top bars.

This is the one I have in our robo's tank (it has bars on the lid). I have it hung next to a shelf so he can get in it.
