Question Sand Bath Suggestions

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone suggest what I could use for a sandbath?

I am just in the process of setting up my hammys cage

Thank you everyone

we use a ceramic 'lasagne' dish from Wilco. It is around 8in X 6in and we fill it with childrens play sand from Argos.

I use all sorts for sand baths, ceramic salt pigs, bird baths & plastic boxes among them & I use Chinchilla sand for mine.

I've used sweetie jars in the past, the ones that tip on the side, I bury them slightly in the substrate. Currently Edison is using a ceramic salt dish. He only uses it as a loo though, he seemed totally uninterested in the idea of bathing. On the upside, litter training complete. Time to level up!

If you are wanting one for a toilet, I find they're more comfortable if its covered in, rather than an open dish...

At the moment my syrian has a rat sized sputnik as his sand bath which he loves a lot. I use the pets at home bathing sand in it

For my Syrian hamster Pumpkin's sand bath - I use a 26cm ceramic roasting dish I bought from Asda in her cage and in her playarea a smaller ceramic baking/lasagne dish which I got from poundland.
