Question Litter training

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post, but it seemed like the most relevant section. I’ve noticed that my new Syrian tends to urinate in the same spot (far right hand corner) all the time. I’ve also watched a few YouTube videos on litter training hamsters and have decided to give it a go. I’ve ordered a litter tray but was just wondering if anyone had any tips/advice about this? How likely is it if I put the tray where he’s been going he’ll use it, or will he just relocate lol

Oh and could you recommend the best litter to use and where to get it from (in the UK).

Default Re: Litter training

They can sometimes change places if you introduce a litter tray but mostly it works, place some substrate he's peed on on top of the tray so it still smells right to him.
Don't use the litter pellets as they aren't always safe, the best thing is to use chinchilla sand the same as is used for sand baths.
This is the best sand to use, you can get it in most pet shops or online.
