Question Cage Opinion

Greetings!
I just got a Syrian Ham-Ham yesterday and I am absolutely in love with my little girl, Ivory Pearl. After having 3 Dwarf Ham-Hams (all at sperate times), I went with another breed after doing my research and have come to terms that the cage I currently have for my previous loves is just not fitting with my standards.
After a week or two of her settling in, I want to upgrade her cage as I like to spoil my animals but it's so hard to find good cage that doesn't have too wide of bars or isn't too expensive but I believe I found a good one: https://www.petsmart.com/small-pet/c...ml?cgid=600201
What are you all's opinion on it? Should I make a bin cage instead or is it good enough?

Although it looks a decent size in floor area I'm pretty sure a Syrian would have no problems getting through those bars especially on the corners so I'd advise not this cage.

Looks decent. Just put extra mesh over with zipties Lots of people have converted guinea pig /rabbit cages in to hamster home.

Most cages sold for rabbits or guinea pigs will have bar spacing that's too wide for a hamster, meshing is an option but it's not any easy job, also although it's hard to tell it looks as though the base is probably too shallow, you need a good deep base for substrate & enough height for a good sized wheel.
Good cages at a reasonable price can be hard to find in the US I know but if you can find a suitable bin that would be fine.

The only two good cages I know of in the US with half inch or less bar spacing, both cost over $100. If you're prepared to spend that they are both very good cages. The Marchioro Goran 82 and the Lixit Mickey 2XL. The Goran is the better size for a Syrian and also the cheaper of the two. It has a lovely big front opening door - good for interaction and taming. Not easy to find, but it's for sale here. The Lixit Mickey 2XL is on Amazon.

Or as Cypher says, a bin cage - you might still be able to get an Iris Christmas tree bin at Walmart - very good size. Or a detolf (about $60). (Ikea glass cabinet tipped on its side and you make a lid). A lot of US members opt for a 40 gallon breeder tank and make or buy a lid and get them in dollar per gallon sales for $40. Can't remember if the sales are at petco or petsmart. Maybe both.

The cage you linked could possibly be meshed but it doesn't have a very deep base for substrate.

Hello and Welcome to HC.
I personally would say that cage wouldn't be suitable - the bars themselves can be meshed to make it safe however from reading the description of the cage the base/bottom is made from a washable canvas - which wouldn't be safe as it could make it easier to escape and also the material could be easily chewed up (would could result in parts of the material being swallowed which could be hazardous).
If you can find a suitable sized bin possibly the IRIS Christmas Tree Bin then I would recommend this instead. https://www.walmart.com/ip/IRIS-Holi...x-Red/55526277
