Smile what is the best wheel for a syrian

hey guys,
can anyone recommend a good wheel for my toffee, since hes about to get a new home, it seems only fitting that my little man gets a new wheel to go with it.
with the barney cage it comes with an 8" wheel, (which in my opinion thats a great size considering you can pay 30-50 pound and not get even close to that size) but ive heard its super noisy.

im looking for a good wheel that isnt noisy and is of reasonable price.

Thankyou

At the moment a lot of people consider the Silent Runner (not the Silent Spinner) to be the best wheel on the market however it comes at a premium price and you'd be looking at at least £25 with postage on top.

Silent Runner 12 Inch

A reasonably priced alternative is the 28cm Trixie wheel. Some people have found that they're not silent but I've had five of the 20cm version for my Chinese and have only had issues with one having a minor squeak which was fixed with a bit of oil. I will say that I've heard they don't last like a more premium product but they're not too expensive if they do need replacing at some point.

Hiya, I have just upgraded Dora to a wooden 28cm wheel and she LOVES it- goes so fast in it, ears flat, flying along, no holds barred! She still likes her cork-lined one but prefers this most days. Around £22 on Amazon. She’s a big Syrian and this is perfect for her.

If you don't mind paying £25 plus another £5 for the cage attachment, the 12" Silent Runner is a great wheel - spins really well, very safe, easy for a hamster to run in, totally silent, and fits well in a Barney cage. It's also the only wheel I've had that hasn't broken - still going strong after 18 months. I think it works really well with the cage attachment in the Barney as you can have it high up so the top is near the roof (no gap to fall on the while or try and climb over it! and plenty of space under it for substrate). It's very stable like that with no issues of a wheel standing on the base limiting substrate in that area.

I did a video review of it which shows it in the Barney cage. It's a bit long and boring in places, but gives an idea and you can fast forward. There are photos at the end showing how to put it together. Fiddly the first time very easy once you've done it once or twice. It's also a safe wheel and has no spindle and very easy for hammies to run in.

The cage attachment is out of stock at the moment but if you email them they'll tell you when it's due in - shouldn't be long.

The carolina storm wheel is a good wheel. I'ts silent, spins easily, is easy to clean and is well made. It is a 10.5 inch wheel.
