Toilet paper SUBSTRATE?

Hi guys!
So it's soon December and for anyone like me that means it's time for a Christmas cage!! I cleaned my hammy cage a couple of weeks ago and used up the last of my megazorb. I like it but it's quite dusty when putting it down so I can't cope with my asthma. I really wanted a white substrate and was debating clean and cozy by kaytee by carefresh as I stopped using wood shavings a few months ago.
I did have the thought of getting a big bag of toilet roll and ripping it really really thin to where it was like pasta sized (curly pasta width and length!) but was unsure on if it would be suitable? I know it's safe but would this bother hammy?

Toilet tissue isn't suitable as a substrate on it's own, it's really not substantial enough & you would need a ridiculously huge amount.
What county are you in (if you can add your location in your personal profile it really helps when you want advice on things like this).
In the UK the best substrate which also happens to be white is fitch, it's very low on dust, I have asthma too & can't go near a bag of megazorb but am fine with fitch. Most of us buy either the 10 or 20kg bags which are very economical.

Toilet paper is generally used as bedding, not as a substrate.
Some of the reasons why toilet paper doesn't make good substrate are: very absorbent, odour control, need A LOT of it and you will need to clean out the cage more often. But it's fine for bedding.

I wouldn't recommend using toilet paper as the sole substrate - although it perfect for nesting materials. If you live in the UK I would highly recommend fitch - cypher has linked the link to their website above.
I have asthma to and I am also affected by dusty substrate so have tried numerous substrates and when I tried fitch I was very impressed - it has minimal dust and have economical and now have been using it for over 2 years now with no problems. Also my Pumpkin loves it to!
