Default Substrate pile

Last night Lil has piled lots of her substrate to the middle of her cage, covering the entrance to her house.

Could this be a sign she is too cold?
My house is pretty chilly at the moment.

If so, what would you suggest I do? Cheers

It could be a sign that she is cold. Or it could have been just where she was digging in each corner.

Extra nesting material and deep substrate can help. Chewable mats for small pets could be put on top of the house or round the side of the cage to add insulation or block draughts.

A tunnel or bendy bridge over he door may help to.

Keeping the room that the cage is in warm is best.

If it's not something she normally does then she could be cold.
Check the temperature in the room (it shouldn't fall below about 18C during the night for a syrian) & make sure her cage isn't in a draft.
It's always better to keep the room warm rather than trying to warm the cage but extra substrate & tissue in the winter can really help them stay cosy.

I don't think this is anything to worry about. But knock the heating up a bit just in case and give her plenty of substrate

It could be a sign she might be cold - especially if it isn't something she wouldn't usually do (my Pumpkin always covers her house entrance even in the summer). Therefore I would advise placing some more bedding in her cage just in case. Although try to keep the room as warm as possible - do you know what temperature it is in the room where Lil's cage is?

Is it possible it's something they do when the days get shorter?

Thanks for all your advice.

I've put the heating up and added even more substrate just incase.

At least she looks cute all snuggled up in there
