Default Is red shale safe?

I saw this red shale rock online and wondered if it was safe for hamsters? I would like to have this as a cool area when it gets warmer.

Link to the rock: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcos...red-shale-rock

Thanks

Default Re: Is red shale safe?

I would worry about that being sharp at the edges, I wouldn't risk it tbh.
For a cool area you could just use a tile or one of those granite chinchilla cooling stones.
