Default Is it safe to put fake aquarium plants in a hamsters cage?

Hello.
I really want to add some greenery in my hamsters cage, I already got some pillow moss, but I also want some plants.
Im not so sure about keeping live plants as I'm not so experienced with keeping live plants in my hamsters cage.

https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcos...aquarium-plant

I was wondering if silk plants like these would be safe to keep in my hamsters cage? If not, do you have any recommendations as to what else I can use besides live plants? Are there any beginner live plants I can try and use that don't require much work?

Thanks!

It's not safe to put artificial plants in the cage, they could be chewed & ingested which could be dangerous.

Keeping live plants in the cage isn't recommended either, plants need light & moisture neither of which you want in the cage.

As already mentioned it is not safe to place fake/artificial plants into a hamsters cage - as they could possibly chew them and ingest pieces which could be dangerous.

I also wouldn't recommend using live plants inside the cage either but a safe alternative would be sprouting seeds (this thread is really useful - Sprouts three ways!). You can sprout some of your hamsters favourite seeds in dishes outside the cage once they have grown then they can be placed inside your hamsters cage for them to enjoy nibbling on them. My hamster really love these sprouts although they don't last very long so wouldn't work as decoration for long but more of a treat.

Forage mixes can be used as decoration scattered on top of substrate. Another thing you could be instead using instead of actual plants is to use millet, oat or wheat sprays standing up in the cage instead.
