Is my silent wheel a fake?
So i received my silent spinner that i bought from ebay this morning and I have to say it's not what i was expecting. So now I'm completely confused as to whether i have gotten the product that was shown by the seller or whether I've been ripped off. My problem is that it isn't the same picture that was shown on ebay and the one i received is not at all silent and it doesn't spin well (there's resistance).
So I've tried to figure out whether this was the right product i wanted by looking at other images and videos but none of them seem to have the back that i have:
I wanted a silent spinner but wherever i look i cannot get concrete info. Who is the original silent spinner made by? Kaytee? Superpet? Someone else? I know for sure i didn't get the original 'real' silent spinner and i've already asked for a refund. I still want to buy another one so could anyone recommend online stores that sell these (i need a 12 inch) which ship to the uk? Thank you

That doesn't look right. The Silent Spinner itself isn't a true silent wheel though even when you get authentic ones(it either doesn't stay silent or is automatically not silent when purchased,if it even spins or stays spinning).
I'd look into a Silent Runner instead,as they actually stay silent and are extremely durable. They're also the safest wheel on the market

Re: Is my silent wheel a fake?
It looks genuine to me, it was redesigned some time ago & taken on by Kaytee from Superpet I think, so you may see both old & new if you search online, since the slight change in design they really don't spin well any more.
The silent runner is a much better wheel if you are looking for an alternative, you can get them from the sugarglider shop here, not cheap but excellent wheels, well made & truly silent.

Re: Is my silent wheel a fake?
You've definitely got a silent spinner there. There are two backs, and old and a new, buts it's genuine.
The problem is silent spinners are unfortunately not silent which is a mistake most of us have made. My dwarfs 6.5 inch is currently driving me bananas.
If you're still able to return it, I'd recommend getting the silent runner from Amazon or sugar gliders uk. A bit pricey but well worth the money.

Re: Is my silent wheel a fake?
Thank you so much for all your replies! If I'm able to get a refund, i will definitely purchase the silent runner. Whilst the silent runner is pricey it would actually end up being cheaper than the silent spinner i bought! Again I'd like to thank you for your help

Re: Is my silent wheel a fake?
My hams have wooden silent wheels from Trixie which cost £10 from Zooplus. They are certainly silent but Daisy pulled off some of the cork lining of hers. Cotton s is still perfect.

Re: Is my silent wheel a fake?
I'll be honest, I use a silent spinner 6.5" for my WW and it's fine, a little bit of noise but nothing major. Though I find the Trixie 12" my Syrian has to be almost silent and though it's a bit flimsy compared to others it's only about £10 and she loves it.

Re: Is my silent wheel a fake?
The 12" Silent Spinner doesn't spin well since a manufacturing change a year or two ago (I thought it might have been sorted by now but it seems not!). Yes the Silent Runner is a much better wheel. It is expensive but it kind of pays off in the long run - it's the only wheel I've had that hasn't broken
