Default ZZ1 for dwarf?

Just checking as I know the recommended cage sizes often change. Is the zoozone one (72 x 46 x 20 cm) still considered a suitable size for a dwarf hamster?

What species of dwarf do you have? It is about 500 sq in, so yes, it does technically meet the minimum requirements. However, I always recommend bigger if you can. Ideally 600 sq in or larger. Smaller and shyer species like a Chinese hamster or robo, might do better in a smaller space, but WW's, Campbells, and hybrids generally appreciate a bit more space in my experience The zoo zone 2 isn't all that expensive, and would leave room for more toys and bedding if you could get hold of that

To summarize, it's suitable, but definitely pretty small. Go bigger if it's possible!

While the floor space might just be big enough for some dwarf hams that are a bit intimidated by too much space it isn't tall enough, you need a 20cm/8" wheel plus space for substrate underneath which just wouldn't fit.

I don't have one at the moment but I'm looking to adopt soon. I already have the zoozone and just wanted to know if it was ok to still use. I think I'll keep it and if any future hamster shows signs of boredom in it I'll upgrade them. Thanks for the info

I can fit an 8" trixie wheel and substrate in it fine

The ZooZone 1 is absolutely fine for a dwarf hamster, your little one may still be intimidated when you bring him/her home so make sure you put plenty of hidey holes and tunnels in All I would suggest is make sure you check the hay rack holes regularly as, if your hammy decides they like chewing, the hay rack holes/water bottle hole are generally where the chewing starts.
