Re: Television in same room
I will use the fan if there is steam or smoke.
Fascinating that AmityvilleHams hamster likes Marilyn Manson! How did you know? I have played 'relaxing music for hamsters' off You tube to my hamsters but I don't know of they liked it. I must try classical. Apparently dogs like reggae best. Makes them chilled.
I am like you barley. i live in a 1 bedroom flat. The lack of space is annoying.

Re: Television in same room
You tend to be able to go by general body language and positive behaviors that are known in hamsters already, which can help guide you in the right direction for the most part.Of course, she was quite a strange hamster who was also mostly tame right away despite coming from a chain pet store, and at least one time fell asleep in my arms while I was singing(it was essentially Völuspá in song form).I know it can be much easier with dogs and larger animals though!
In theory the general music preference could have been influenced potentially through what owners frequently listen to around their hamsters, but it would be pretty hard to determine how accurate that is.

How cute. I like to think Hammy is a music lover. Played quietly of course.
