Play pen
Can anyone recommend a good playpen? I like the one on Zooplus (the wooden one) but it's to big for the room. One that's a good size but not massive, and hamster escape proof.

Re: Play pen
Hmm I think the only good one I have found (the skyline Arizona ranch) may be the one you are talking about, but I will post a link anyway.
Skyline Ranch Arizona Indoor Run | Free P&P £29+ at zooplus!
It's actually not that big (110 x 77 x 30 cm - about the same size as a hamster cage) although you can sit in it with them. It also can be taken apart so you could easily store it out of the way while not in use.
The reason why I love thus playpen in particular is that because the walls are solid, hamsters seem to not even try to escape as much. With barred playpens, it's like they see the outside and decide to just gnaw!
Not everyone has unlimited space though, so maybe you could make your own playpen? I'm no DIY expert, so I am afraid that I cannot offer any tips, but I know other members here have made playpens.

Re: Play pen
The stylish playpen is good. I have it for my dwarf hamster. I like that it folds up when not in use. You may want to cover the corners (at the bottom) as there are holes that could lead a hamster to try to squeeze out or chew.
You may also be able to cut yours smaller, so it fits the space you have.

Re: Play pen
The stylish playpen is what I have used with my Syrians and gerbils. Both have absolutely loved it! It's great because it's customizable, so it can be as big or as small as you'd like

Re: Play pen
The stylish playpen is an amazing idea. I'm so impressed. I'll definelty be getting it for my hamsters.
Side note, has anyone used this for a guinea pig run? Did it work? Was it sturdy enough?
