Leaky water bottle???
So I think Tangerine's bottle may be leaking. I use a toilet paper roll stand to hold it upright and I have a small shallow ceramic dish under the spout to catch drips. I think the bottle may be leaking at the cap because for the past few days I've noticed that the bottom of the water bottle stand has been getting all soggy and the substrate under the stand also gets wet. However, there is not very much water in the ceramic dish so I know it's not leaking out of the spout itself. I suspect a leaky water bottle. It may be a few days before I can stop at the pet store to get a new one. Will the soggy substrate under the stand get moldy/post health risks? Tangerine doesn't burrow/sleep under that area so I'm not too concerned about him getting soggy.

Re: Leaky water bottle???
If you're getting a new bottle in a few days, it's probably not going to do any harm. Proves best to replace the wet substrate tho. Are you sure the water isn't from the outside of the bottle, when you change the water? Try drying it off first. I kept making the toilet roll tube wet when I used one. Is it possible your ham is brushing past the bottle if it's on ground level & making it leak that way?
I hope this helps x

Re: Leaky water bottle???
Until you can get a new bottle, might be an idea to take the old one out and put in a dish, if you have room.
