Bin cages!!
Hi all recently my hamster has been bar chewing I think it's because she's stressed and needs more space. I'm short on money at the moment but think it's really important that she gets a new cage asap. Anyone who has a bin cage please can I see and how did you make it I've seen YouTube videos but I don't know where to get the right size box from in the uk?! If you do know where please could you leave the name and place of were to get it from
Thankyou so much
Xx

Re: Bin cages!!
My robo Tangerine lives in a 660 sq. inch bin cage. Here is how I made it:
On the lid I cut a large rectangle out of the plastic using a sharp blade.
I purchased some zip ties and wire mesh from a hardware store for the ventilation part.
I used a power drill to drill several holes around the rectangle I cut out to put the zip ties through.
I cut the wire mesh to size and used zip ties to attach it to the lid.
That's pretty much it! It really wasn't that hard and it took me less than an hour. Tangerine loves it.

This is how I make bin cages: Photo Guide to Making a Bin Cage
What size of box you get depends on what size cage you want! I like really useful boxes and they have a wide range of sizes. I know others use ikea boxes.

Re: Bin cages!!
I live in the US so I got my box from Target. I'm sure you have some store similar to that in the U.K.

Re: Bin cages!!
I've merged your two similar threads, coco2002
As I mentioned, Ikea have storage boxes. I've also got some of mine from The Range, B&Q, Homebase and Staples, as well as the RUB website.

Re: Bin cages!!
IKEA is an excellent place to get some bins, the SAMLA is available there, and is suitable for a Syrian if you were to attach two or more together.
SAMLA Box Transparent 78x56x43 cm/130 l - IKEA
I'm not in the UK so that's about as far as my knowledge goes
