A cage 'with tubes'

I have only had my hamster about 6 weeks, but it is becoming clear that the start cage I bought isn't really adequate.

I want to upgrade and I'm not sure what to get. My son (who is in charge of cleaning out, and is taking responsibility for looking after Sugar) wants a cage 'with tubes' and I think he means a Rotastak. I warned him that they are fiddly to clean but he still wants one.

Or can anyone else recommend something that would fit the bill? Preferably not a cage with bars as she is a chewer.

The rotastac cages are way to small for a syrian and I think he will soon get pretty fed up assembling and disassembling when sugar pees in the tubes and nests in there so it gets all blocked up and stuffy. They can get chest infections from doing this too.
I would look on the cage review sections and see if you like anything
Something like an Imac Fantasy has some tubes or one of the FOP cages?

I'm not great fan of crittertrail as they are pooly made and hammies find them easy to escape from. It doesn't look awful big and that wheel is too small for a syrian
The deluxe version says the sizes are Measures 15-3/4" x 23-2/5" x 12-3/4" with 3/8" wire spacing.
The Imac is a better cage I'd say and you can but extensions for it. What about a hamster heaven (Savic) Fab large cage and it does have tubes.

Thanks for the hints. I think I might go for the Imac, but I wish it came in a different colour because I'm going to get protests from my 9 year old boy about the pink base But at least the hamster is a girl!

It's really annoying because I had a fab cage for my last hamster and I gave it to the charity shop thinking I wouldn't get another I had a big cage with a bridge that looked like a rainbow, and I can't find another one the same anywhere.

The Ferplast rainbow was a fantastic cage but not made anymore They do sometimes pop up on e bay or in garden centres with old stock on a shelf!
There are a few fantasy's on e bay. They sometimes come up but called something else or just 'hamster cage' so you need to look. He may enjoy getting the extensions then the cage can be expanded up the way too. Get a nice big wheel for it. Other ones to watch for are the Gabber rex, hamster heaven, savic cambridge and there is also a savic peggy with tubes on at the moment on e bay but it is barred. We have a huge FOP cage with tubes at the moment and it is amazing. It is a tank type but again no longer made. The fantasy is bigger in real life than it looks in pics.

I went out today intending to buy the iMac fantasy and an extra level, but in the end I have come back with a Duna Fun. It came out £10 cheaper than the fantasy with the extension kit and seems like a lovely roomy cage. Only thing that is a bit small is the wheel but I am hoping I can fit the silent spinner I already have in there somehow.

Sugar hasn't moved in yet, thought I'd leave it till the kids get home from school so they can watch her exploring

If it's for a Syrian, you'll need to take a shelf out to fit an 8" wheel in

I have put the silent spinner in freestanding rather than attached to the bars (on the stand that came with it) and that fits on the lower shelf just fine

Sugar is running about madly exploring at the moment. She seems pretty happy, and she is especially enjoying the tubes. I think this will be her permanent home.

ah, but the silent spinner is only 6.5". If you've got a tiny or baby hamster it will be ok, but normally syrians need an 8"
