Default Any one use a Zoo med cork round before?

I ordered one because I read here that cork was a safe substance to use. However I was dismayed when it arrived because it appears to have moss and lichen on it. Is there a way to kill that to make it safe to use?

Many people (myself included) just leave the lichen and moss on to be honest. It really won't hurt your ham so I wouldn't worry about it. Plus, I think it makes it look even more naturalistic! If you don't like it however, you can simply cut/pull it off Best wishes

I do like the look but thought it would add too much humidity. Even though it appears to be dry and not really living.

No work tomorrow so hopefully will be able to work on the cage and upload some work in progress photos.

It's really unlikely to add humidity granted it doesn't get wet, and your cage has proper ventilation. I use moss in all of my setups and have never run into an issue with it

The moss & lichen are fine but it's best to give cork a wash to remove any lose dirt, dry it out then freeze it for a week in case of any bugs/eggs, after defrosting make sure it's completely dry before use.
