Critter Nation for Dwarf Hamster?
Hi All!
I am new to this forum, but have been reading a lot. I was lucky enough to score a double Critter Nation cage for an AMAZING price! I have modified the bottom unit for my Syrian, Olive, but was wondering if the bar spacing would be suitable for a 4 month old Dwarf Hamster? He is NOT a Robo. The spacing is 1/2".... any opinions would be amazing! I've read conflicting information online about bar spacing for a Dwarf Hammy.

Re: Critter Nation for Dwarf Hamster?
Half inch bar spacing is too big for a dwarf ham, it should never be more than 1cm which I think is more like 0.3".

Re: Critter Nation for Dwarf Hamster?
1/2 inch is 1.27 cm.Regardless of bar spacing, the main problem you'd face is that they're very tall for hamsters(especially dwarf species)so it would require heavy modification to make it work.
However, something that would be even better to do would be creating some sort of base and table and removing a side panel of each section then attaching them together. This is a simple way to create an even better cage size for Syrian hamsters,as even the Critter Nation on its own can be small for Syrians
