Suitable cages for 2 dwarfs?
I'm going to be purchasing two dwarf hamsters soon ( Campbells or Roborovski, undecided yet) and they will live together. All the cages out there are either very expensive or inadequate. Here's a couple I found, opinions would be appreciated!
Detolf
This cage is big, but not ideal for me as it's hard to transport and can only be brought in ikea.
DETOLF Glass-door cabinet Black-brown 43x163 cm - IKEA
Alaska Cage
I think this cage is perfect, but I heard that the bar sizing is too big?

Rotastak Pico
seems ok but a bit small?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Cages-Pen...s=hamster+cage
If you have any other suitable cages (ideally something not from Ikea or a bin cage) then please let me know!
Also, in general which hamster species fights less Campbells or Robo's
Or girls or boys?

Re: Suitable cages for 2 dwarfs?
The rosewood pico is definitely not suitable, not for any ham really but you don't want any levels with a pair.
The alaska bar spacing is fine for adult robos or Russians (if you're buying from a shop they will be hybrids not Campbells btw) but may be too large for a baby robo, the cage is quite high too so you would have to avoid any chance of falls which can only be done with shelves or levels so that rules the alaska out really.
The detolf would be more suitable as you wouldn't need shelves or levels but it may be too large, I haven't kept pairs myself but those who do keep them successfully without needing to split them up due to fall outs generally use smaller cages.
You could try a bin cage or maybe a zoozone tank style cage.
Robos generally do better in pairs than Russians & males do better than females as the females tend to be more territorial but that's only a general guide, there really is no guarantee with any pair, if you set your cage up carefully, no levels, hideouts with at least two entrances, two wheels etc & scatter feed rather than using bowls then they may live together happily.
Do be prepared & have a second cage (& everything you need to go in it) ready from the start as minor squabbles can escalate quickly & you may not have time to get & prepare a second cage if that happens.

The ZooZone large looks perfect thank you! Are you sure the bars on top aren't too easy to squeeze through the bars on top?

Re: Suitable cages for 2 dwarfs?
The bar spacing on the larger zoozone is too big, you would need to cover that section with mesh.
