Is my hamster's cage okay?

My Syrian currently has a Cambridge 'de luxe hamster home' (62 x 36 x 43cm) is that an alright size for my hamster? she does chew the bars despite having a lot of chew toys

That cage is much too small, unfortunately.
The good thing, though, is that there are many good hamster cages available in the UK that are created commercially. I'm sure that someone who lives in the UK will come around soon that knows more about the cages there, but there is the Maxi Duna, the Barney, Falco, Alaska, and several other ones.
If all else fails, you can also make your own cage. Furniture hacks from IKEA are quite popular (such as the Detolf), bin cages (bins with openings cut in and meshed with hardware cloth), and fish tanks (40 gallon or more, with a DIY lid).
Although bar chewing may not be because of the cage size, as some hamsters just like to chew their bars, in this case with the hamster cage being much too small the source of the problem is most likely the cage size.

That's very small especially for a Syrian.
For Syrians you wanna go no lower than 80 x 50cm though the bigger the better.

A good cage to replace it would be any of the following
Alexander small pet cage
Barney pet cage
David hamster heaven
Alaska cage
Zoozone 2 (you'll need to mesh the lid)

If you're any good at diy you could make one.

There are bin cages too though I've never seen a bin large enough.

Bins can be directly expanded,so don't rule them out just because you can't find a single bin large enough!They're a wonderful idea for a basic DIY if you want to keep it to the most basic of tools(wood burning knife and pliers being all you need).

I would look at some of the cages SabreRose mentioned, the barney & alaska from Zooplus are very popular, a good size & not too expensive.
I agree about bins, most aren't big enough & joining them isn't really practical or ideal.
