ZooPlus Wooden Wheel - Info

For those who aren't aware, the ZooPlus Wooden Exercise Wheel (aka. 'Karlie Wonderland Wooden/Bogie Wheel') with the wooden rungs is no more.
It's been replaced by the cork-lined version of the same (although under the brand name 'Trixie' instead) wheel. =D You can't even get the runged version any more from the site.

I recently bought a couple of the wooden wheels for my new Robo, as I didn't have issues with the old 'runged' versions and wanted a quiet wheel as the hamsters are always in my room. To my surprise, for as far as I remember the info on the wheels' page hadn't changed, I received two cork wheels instead of the runged ones. I went back to the page and saw that the info had now been changed, and only the cork wheels are available. I've now bought two 28cm ones for my future Syrian.

So, for anyone who was put off by the runged wooden wheels due to some hamsters apparently getting their claws trapped in the rungs, you wont have to worry any more. Also, it's still the same price as the old wheels (so, 1/2-1/3 the price on Amazon, even with the £3 delivery charge), so all we have to worry about is maybe a bit of sanding around the edges and plenty of Plasticote. XD

I spend about a week a few weeks ago bebating whetehr to buy that wheel for my Syrian. Safety concerns etc.
In the end I went for the silent runner from Amazon.
But good to know if I ever need another wheel

I have one of these cork-lined wheels, and it's marvellous. She goes at a million miles an hour in in, with a straight back, and there's not a sound.

Unless she takes some food in with her, of course!
