New cage/stacking/Alexander cage/other stuff advice
Sorry about the messy title
Hi. I've just made this account but been on here reading and getting advice for years.
I'm looking for some help.
I've got two hamster (one Syrian and one Campbell's dwarf) and I'm looking to change cages.
My Syrian is in a teo storey bin cage which is just a little under the minimum size but I want Cher in a bigger one.
I have one Zoozone 2 which I want to put one of them in but if I do, it leaves little space for the others cage so I'm thinking of stacking a similar sized cage underneath it.
I love the Alexander cage but I notice the too is thinner than the bottom so does anyone know if it would be wise enough to place the zoozone on top?
I know the 100cm Barney cage might be an idea but I've read it's easy to escape from.
Anyone have any of these cages and can shed any light?
Also for anyone who has the Alexander or Barney cage. My Syrian used to bar chew in an iMac fantasy (with extensions) does the thinner bar spacing reduce bar chewing?
Thanks.

Re: New cage/stacking/Alexander cage/other stuff advice
I've had both the Barney and the Alexander and they are pretty much the same cage except for the accessories and the sloped bits on the roof of the Alexander. I've had a ZooZone 2 on top of an Alexander before with no issues but if you were worried about stability, a thin piece of wood or something between the two may help.

Hello and welcome to hamster central!
I do not have any experience with barred cages, but I hope you get some help

Oh I never thought of a piece of wood or something. Good idea.
How was the bar spacing on the barney around the corners? I've heard it can be a bit gappy.

Re: New cage/stacking/Alexander cage/other stuff advice
The concern I'd have with stacking is that the Alexander's base is relatively fragile - it's quite common for them to be delivered broken and have to be replaced. So, I'd be concerned about the structural integrity of it once you've added the extra weight of the Zoozone and accessories onto it.
Could you think about having a (coffee?) table with one cage underneath the table and another one on top?

Since posting this I actually had the table idea. So I've ordered one and one cage will go on it and one go under it. So simple. Don't know why it didn't accur to me before haha.
Oh I didn't know there were cases of it coming damaged. Hopefully mine will get here ok.
Thanks for the advice

Re: New cage/stacking/Alexander cage/other stuff advice
I was going to suggest a table too Because apart from anything else you might need to use the top door on the Alexander or Barney quite regularly.
I have the Barney cage. The gaps at the edges are slightly bigger but not much bigger than 8mm. Fine for a Syrian.
I would suggest the Zoozone for the Campbells and the Alexander or Barney for the Syrian
